Recognizing the gap in personalized and streamlined estate settlement for smaller estates, John Gibson took action. In 1968, he founded E.E.S. in Montreal, initially known as Executive Estate Services Ltd., to address this need.
While assisting with estate settlements, John Gibson observed a gap: even successful individuals often neglected their own financial planning requirements. Seizing this opportunity, E.E.S. expanded its services to offer personalized financial planning advice. E.E.S. pioneered truly objective financial planning in Canada by providing executives with unbiased, informed, and fee-only guidance.
As Toronto rose to prominence as Canada’s business and financial hub, E.E.S. strategically relocated its headquarters to Toronto in 1979.
In 1993, Executive Estate Services Ltd. streamlined its official name to E.E.S. Financial Services Ltd. The decision was taken to reflect the company’s growing focus on comprehensive financial planning services for both individuals and businesses.
As the digital era reshaped conventional business practices, our company transitioned its headquarters to Markham, Ontario, a thriving Toronto suburb. Situated in a scenic four-and-a-half acre campus, our new three-building head office is strategically positioned for future growth and expansion. It provided a modern and flexible workspace to support the company’s continued expansion into the new millennium.

At E.E.S., we believe in giving back to the community. Every year, our team comes together to spread some holiday cheer by picking out gifts for a family in need through our local church. It’s a small way to give back and make a difference.
Hospitals aren’t known for parties, but E.E.S. sure gave Markham Stouffville Hospital something to celebrate in 2008. John and Diane Gibson, the heart behind E.E.S., generously donated $1 million to support the hospital’s expansion and redevelopment, eventually helping countless people in the community.
E.E.S. is a big believer in helping kids around the world catch some quality sleep. We’re proud supporters of the Sleeping Children Around the World program, which has helped over 1.5 million children in developing countries get the good night’s sleep they deserve.
In 2014, John and Diane Gibson from E.E.S. went above and beyond. They rolled up their sleeves and drilled two deep water wells for two small villages in Kenya. This incredible act of generosity brought clean water to countless people, making a huge difference in their lives.
